Signing inside the covers – Kim Harrison

My cousin and I went on a road trip yesterday to pick up our copies of A Perfect Blood at Mysterious Galaxy in San Diego.  Kim Harrison was there, along with about 200 of our fellow fans.  It was a fun Q&A session and we learned that: She has started working on a new series, but it is in the really early stages.  The Hollows series will be wrapping up in a book or two, she isn’t sure if it will be 12 or 13 books.  Harrison never expected Rachel’s ancestry to be what it became, but she, like most of the other characters in this series has evolved as each book was written.  My favorite evolution has been Al whom Harrison said was initially supposed to be nothing more than a big, bad ugly.  I am so happy he was able to morph and change because I find him to be one of the more interesting characters.  Though Jenks is my favorite “character”,  Tinks little red panties he cracks me up!  Maybe he will grow big to be with Rachel at the end (haha – just kidding).

I am super excited to get into this book today.  I had no time yesterday because we had to sample all of the culinary delights San Diego has to offer and aren’t found easily in Ventura County.  We had bibimbop at a Tofu House and some amazing cakes at the Korean bakery,, we split orange cheesecake, lemon cake, a decadent green tea custard and the yummiest chocolate thing ever.  Oh my!  Thanks so much to Reece for making sure we only go to the best spots.  On the drive home we split carne asada fries.  Damn those were good.  I definitely blew my diet!  But it was great, and now I hear the book calling to me softly to crack the covers… Hmm, I think I am going to go lose myself and find out what that itchy witch gets herself into.

About ocdreader

I love to read! I always have a book or four going, I have more books in my to-be-read pile than I can read in a year and yet I continue to haunt the bookstores. I have a problem, but I somehow soldier on. I enjoy talking books, so pass on your recommendations and thoughts - I would love to hear them.
