T is for Tim Burton

I really like Tim Burton.  He has such a wacky vision.  It is dark, tattered and everything is faintly goofy or ridiculous.  It is a fairly cynical view and making things dark and weird just adds to my enjoyment.  Because of that I am super excited to see his new movie, Dark Shadows.  It opens on May 11, 2012 and looks perfectly silly following the issues of a vampire from 1752 released from his coffin in 1972.  Crazy!

Also, I must admit, ever since 21 Jump Street, I love Johnny Depp.  He is a lunatic and makes most anything look good and I do enjoy both Michelle Pfeiffer and Helena Bonham Carter.

Do you like Tim Burton movies?  Did you prefer the original Willy Wonka, or the remake?  I grew up with the original and love Gene Wilder (wild-hair) but Depp’s soft spoken Wonka was pretty enjoyable as well.

My absolute favorite though is The Corpse Bride.  His fairytale stories show the worst in human nature so appealingly and well.  I have high hopes for Dark Shadows.  I hope they are well-founded.

About ocdreader

I love to read! I always have a book or four going, I have more books in my to-be-read pile than I can read in a year and yet I continue to haunt the bookstores. I have a problem, but I somehow soldier on. I enjoy talking books, so pass on your recommendations and thoughts - I would love to hear them.

  1. I love Tim Burton’s movies. I’m looking forward to Dark Shadows, but I think my husband is even more excited to see it than I am LOL

Also, I prefer the new, Tim Burton-ified Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 🙂

I love Tim Burton movies and can’t wait for Dark Shadows. He, Bonham Carter and Johnny Depp certainly make a great threesome. Erm…maybe those were the wrong words. But I like them nonetheless.
