Frivolous Fridays – August 17th

So a couple of weeks ago I posted about the haboob my dad narrowly avoided on Lake Pleasant in AZ.  Well it was part of their monsoon season out there and on a walk a week later he sent me a picture of the pond (more like temporary puddle) near his house along with some tadpoles.  Fun!  Each little black dot is a tadpole…

So, about a week later I get these pictures…I guess when there isn’t much time for cool weather and water, things happen fast!!  I don’t know if you can tell, but those are a whole bunch of teeny tiny frogs!  How cute is that?  Sorry about the crappy phone pics…but even though we can’t see details, the SIZE is amazing to me!  They are so little and there are so many of them!  I guess the survival rate can’t be that large.

Now I need a picture of the wild donkeys that live by their house and we will see most of the wildlife the outskirts of Phoenix, AZ has to offer.  🙂

About ocdreader

I love to read! I always have a book or four going, I have more books in my to-be-read pile than I can read in a year and yet I continue to haunt the bookstores. I have a problem, but I somehow soldier on. I enjoy talking books, so pass on your recommendations and thoughts - I would love to hear them.

I love cut little froggies! When we first went to Cairns my kids found tadpoles in a pond. They brought them home and half the damn things turned into cane toads and started eating the frogs so we had to separate them to save the little froggies lives!

  3. I can’t decide if I find it repulsive or absolutely adorable!

Ohhh wow that’s awesome! 🙂 I remember having to look after tadpoles at my primary school, they were so cool, never got to see them turn into diddy frogs though, they’re so cute! Which is weird, considering they are not remotely furry. 😛

Don't be shy!
