WWW Wednesdays December 5th

Happy Wednesday!  Play along with MizB at Should Be Reading and answer the following questions:  What did you just finish?, What are you currently reading? and What are you reading next?

vine coverDark Halo large picI recently finished Vine, An Urban Legend by Michael Williams and Monster Hunters (Nightmare Academy #1) a super fun middle grade book by Dean Lorey.  I also read Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers and Dark Halo by Christopher Kokoski.

paris wifescandalousI am still reading a one from last week because I had to make a review date on a different book so I am still in the middle of The Paris Wife by Paula McLain which I am loving AND I just downloaded Scandalous by one of our participants of the WWW meme – our own Patricia Burroughs aka Pooks!!  I just started it because I couldn’t help myself and it is delicious fun.  It takes place in the late 80s, early 90s, but Paisley channels her grandmother to (I think) rock New York’s high society with a delicious scandal.

Next up – I have a couple of review books by Kimberly Richardson to delve into, Mabon and Pomagranite and The Decemberists.  I am looking forward to those, and I really would like to read something from my TBR, though I am unsure what it will be…I have so many tasty morsels sitting quietly on the shelves.

What are you reading this week?

About ocdreader

I love to read! I always have a book or four going, I have more books in my to-be-read pile than I can read in a year and yet I continue to haunt the bookstores. I have a problem, but I somehow soldier on. I enjoy talking books, so pass on your recommendations and thoughts - I would love to hear them.

Most are new books to me also. I have seen The Paris Wife around a few times. Enjoy your reading this week, and hope you can soon read some from your TBR pile.

    • ocdreader says:

Thanks! I hope I get to some too – I am so bad sometimes and go for the new shiny stuff!

      • Gigi Ann says:

I have decided for 2013 I am going to read from my TBR pile and try to catch up with the newer ones later. I say that but I have trouble following through. But, this year I’m going to be FIRM with myself… LOL..

      • ocdreader says:

I keep telling myself that as well but I think I am going to have to try a 50-50 or something to cover things like bookclub picks, review books etc! Good luck with your resolution!!

A very nice and varied selection you have here. I’ve wondered about Dark Halo and The Paris Wife. The former sounds like a typical read for me, but the ladder would be different. I’m trying to read different kinds of book. Anyway, here’s mine. Have a good week. http://ecsuniverse.blogspot.com/2012/12/www-wednesdays-11.html

  5. I love the Nightmare Academy trilogy, so much fun 😀 You have to read the sequels, too! I just wish Dean Lorey would right more books in the series…

    Happy reading!

  6. Irish says:

Those all look like good books. I loved Grave Mercy when I read it last year.

    My WWW Wednesday is here.

I just finally am catching up on reading WWW Wednesdays and found this. Thank you so much for reading my book!

Loved Grave Mercy and The Paris Wife, will be interested to see what else you read next!

    • ocdreader says:

Scandalous was super fun! I read it way too fast 🙂 I am curious what I will pick up next too – it never quite works out how I think it will

      • pooks says:

I have given up saying what I’ll read next, because I never read it next! Thanks again for reading Scandalous, and thanks for the kind words. Sometime after the first of the year I’ll have a contest for all Amazon reviewers and give an Amazon gift card to the winner. If you leave a review there, you’re automatically eligible (though you have to be sure I have a way to contact you so email me and let me know it’s you).

      • ocdreader says:

Cool – I am writing my review and will be sure to post on Amazon too!!

  8. Shannon says:

The Paris Wife is on my Goodreads To Read shelf, too. Glad to hear that it’s good!

Don't be shy!
