WWW Wednesdays March 6th

Happy Wednesday – time to talk books with MizB of Should Be Reading.  What have you finished, What are you reading and What is on deck to read next?

magic studyThis week I finished Magic Study (Study, Bk 2) by Maria V. Snyder.  I got it in my hands and couldn’t help myself, I had to read it.  It was good.  🙂  But that is all I have finished cause I have been dithering around or something.

Also, I finished it last week, but I have a giveaway of The Silver Thread, simply comment on yesterday’s post to enter!

Cover 1.inddrevolutionI am currently reading The Brotherhood of Dwarves by DA Adams.  I am almost done so I should finish today, this poor dwarf is all over the place.  I am also reading Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly, this is a YA that swaps between current day and a diary written during the French Revolution, pretty fun except that the main character is messed up and teen annoying.  Hopefully she heals enough to pull herself together.  I am also still reading Wither by Lauren DeStefano.  I keep putting it down and think I won’t go back, but then I pick it up.  The writing is nice but I don’t know if I care that much to finish.  We will see.  There are some YA series that just don’t hit me right and this might be one of them.

claramrtiffanychaperoneNext up I am going to pick up Unbroken and I think Clara and Mr. Tiffany by Susan Vreeland.  Also bookclub is reading The Chaperone this month and I went to the library to see if I can’t read these in the next three weeks: The Raven Boys, Ship Breaker and Finnikin of the Rock – I hope I can!  I am not going anywhere this weekend…

What are you guys reading this week?

About ocdreader

I love to read! I always have a book or four going, I have more books in my to-be-read pile than I can read in a year and yet I continue to haunt the bookstores. I have a problem, but I somehow soldier on. I enjoy talking books, so pass on your recommendations and thoughts - I would love to hear them.

Isn’t it pretty? I am excited to find out what Vreeland has to “teach me” about Tiffany and his lamps, along with what I think will be a love story though I haven’t read the back of the book yet so who knows! 🙂

  2. Yes, Wither and didn’t click either. Got about fifty pages in and figured I was way too intelligent for it. And that is some admission! I can’t wait for your Magic Study review. I will keep posted. you can find my WWW at: http://gwynnethwhite.blogspot.com/2013/03/www-wow.html

I got a copy of Brotherhood of Dwarves a while back, too. One of my reviewers is currently eating it up. I hope it’s good!

It is actually. I had to get used to it, I don’t read much full fantasy dwarves/war and the like with all the crazy names…but now that I am I am pretty invested in where Roskin is going to go and how he is going to get out of these tricky situations.

  4. Revolution sounds like it might be a great read. I just bought Wither yesterday because I realized I should read it since I love the author so much on Twitter. I hope I enjoy it, but I know some series don’t really impact everyone the same! I hope you enjoy it nonetheless!
I really love The Raven Boys, so I hope you’re able to get to that soon!

Wither is written beautifully, just not a bunch is happening. I think I am not close enough to early 20s to be horrified I would die in this universe she created or something. Not sure, but like I said I keep going back…so there is something there! 🙂 I hope you enjoy it, I look forward to your review! We can compare

As I think I’ve said before, I have Magic Study as an audiobook and haven’t ever listened to it. I really should. I did like Poison Study.

I know how that goes though, I have so many sequels or firsts that I am excited to read that sit there, and sit there until that magic day when I finally get to them! 🙂

I don’t think I’ve heard of any of your books–I’m going to check out several of them, though, interesting titles and covers!

  8. This are all new books to me. Magic Study looks good. 🙂
