A-Z Challenge, day 3, C. I made the cutest cake for my family for Easter. I just had to show it off, because, well, it was cute and colorful and it fit C dang it! The kids liked it anyway because they like anything with candy hanging all over it. 🙂
I also decided, since I was just using boxed yellow cake, to die the inside easter colors.
I split the batter into three bowls and colored it blue, pink and yellow so it was fun to cut into and eat as well. My uncle asked me if I was making a political statement, which I think was his funny way of asking if I was serving everyone up some “funny” cake. oh, ha ha ha.
I saw a picture of this cake, which is how I got the idea, but they used the chicks while I used bunnies. I had to prop the bunnies up with hidden chocolate eggs because they were so long and their ears pulled them down. I would recommend the chicks so you don’t have to do that. Yummy and pretty.
That looks yummy!
Oh, that’s a fabulous idea! I’ve made marble cake (mixing chocolate and vanilla) but totally hadn’t thought of plain old food-coloring. And very cute with the peeps!
ooooh, I want to make marble now 🙂
mmmmmmmmmmmm
A cute cake for Easter! Mmmmm… looks scrumptious! 😉
The cake sure looks yummy…!
It’s a bit late but Happy Easter! 🙂

Cake is a great C pick! And this looks really cute. What a fun idea!
Oh the sugar factor is so HIGH! I can see how this would be so much fun for you to do and to share.
Oh yea, the kids were bouncing off the walls a little bit, luckily their parents took them home after 🙂 lol
Now that’s a cake! Great C word.
It looks fantastic! I can imagine it with custard! Yum.

Oh, my .. not only a great cook (or baker), but a talented decorator. Great way to start the day — with awesome pictures of sweets. 🙂 Hope to return for more.

That’s ADORABLE! I’ve never seen colors mixed that way!
I did a double and made it rainbow one time, very Grateful Dead looking, but the kids liked it – 🙂
