Frivolous Fridays – August 30

Random Bits and Bobs – totally random things I am blah blah blahing about this Friday.  Hope you enjoy your weekend!!  I will be going to a wedding and hanging out with family!

My husband has our Eastern Sierras pictures on his computer and I still haven’t gotten them from him…maybe next week I will FINALLY post some.

Fantasy Football – I signed up and drafted for fantasy football this week.  It was quite stressful.  For those of you not sure what this is about, think of your favorite sport and their teams.  Imagine you can draft your favorite players by position regardless of what team they are on and have a “fantasy team” that you control online. But, you are competing for the real players with the other people in your fantasy league in a draft.  When the members of your team play in their respective games each week, you rack up points for each guy.  Your “team” goes head to head with another player’s “team” each week of the normal season.

The problem is, I know how football is played, but I don’t really know who the players are.  This poses a bit of a problem when you want to pick the best player for your team!  Luckily, there are tons of resources for the football inept and I don’t have a completely embarrassing team.  Yay!  So I have a lot of work ahead of me, the least of which is figuring out who is on my team and remembering their names and what real team they are on!  How did I get roped into this?  My husband is the commissioner on a league and they needed an extra player (it needs to be even) so here I am!  I am excited and have been wanting to try this out for a couple of years, but I am also lazy, so I never pushed it.

Dreamz – I had another weird dream the other night, you are probably sick of me and my weird dreams, but this time was a little bit like the movie Inception!

I was in a tall building with some kids in a room with huge and heavy furniture.  We looked out the window and saw “something” scary, I can’t really remember what, but when I was at work and saw a plane exhaust trail I remembered the dream because it looked like a rocket or bomb trail or something heading towards my work building (I instantly remembered this dream).  In the dream it hit the building and we started to tilt.  I was hoping it would just sway like a pendulum but it kept going and going until it suddenly fell on its side.  I remember thinking, “I am going to die now which really sucks and, I am not ready!”  Somehow the heavy furniture did not come off the walls and smash me like I expected and we ended up sideways and in a river riding the rapids. One of the kids almost drowned when we finally stopped but I think she ended up ok.  It was nuts!  It was only like Inception because the room tilted so crazily.  I woke up, then fell back asleep and completely forgot about it until I saw that sky trail.

So, what new and exciting things have you been doing or dreaming about?  Until next week!

About ocdreader

I love to read! I always have a book or four going, I have more books in my to-be-read pile than I can read in a year and yet I continue to haunt the bookstores. I have a problem, but I somehow soldier on. I enjoy talking books, so pass on your recommendations and thoughts - I would love to hear them.

  1. What an utterly bonkers dream. When you write them down or tell someone about it they sound really short, but at the time they feel really long.

I’m currently wasting time on the Internet until work finishes and during the weekend I’ll be doing what is hopefully the last round of editing on that sodding story of mine…!

Good luck with the wedding – here’s hoping that the bride doesn’t itchy feet at the altar. I hate to see good food going to waste.

Dream sounds like your New York experience. But, I hope the blogger who figured out your other dream looks at this one!!

I love those nutty dreams. I just wish I could figure out why they come. What’s my mind trying to make me understand? Here’s to a great day at the wedding.
