WWW Wednesday 11/13

Happy Wednesday everyone! I am in Las Vegas, leaving this morning though, so this is pretty low budget, forgive me for the lack of pictures or links.  Play with our host MizB from Shouldbereading.

I finished Trapped (Iron Druid Bk 5) by Kevin Hearne which was a good time with many gods out to try to kill the druid and I finished Supernaturally (Paranormalcy, bk 2) by Kiersten White which was cute, but not as fun as book 1.  Though I will read book 3 soon to figure out what role Evie has to play in the paranormal world in general.

I am currently reading Forged in Dreams and Magick by Kat Bastion which is pretty dang enjoyable as my modern heroine was just brought back to 13th Century Scotland a couple of chapters ago and she has some games to play…

Next I will be picking up ExHeroes by Peter Clines which has superheroes AND zombies…and/or the third Paranormalcy book.

What are you reading this week?

About ocdreader

I love to read! I always have a book or four going, I have more books in my to-be-read pile than I can read in a year and yet I continue to haunt the bookstores. I have a problem, but I somehow soldier on. I enjoy talking books, so pass on your recommendations and thoughts - I would love to hear them.

  1. How much gambling did you do in Vegas? The closest I’ve been to a Vegas casino was when I went to Mississippi and there was some casino on a boat. I won a few dollars on a machine and then spent it on another machine a few minutes later, before stuffing my face at the all-you-can-eat buffet.

I finished reading Into Thin Air, which was jolly interesting, and have resumed reading David Copperfield. I’m now at the 72% mark and will no doubt start on something else before I reach 80%.

haha! That is how some books go. 🙂 I didn’t do ANY gambling except with my life by going in a cab, walking the strip and going on the NY NY rollercoaster. This place is the best to people watch. Though I did play roulette, but it was with fake money during one of the work events. I was really good with fake money!

*Rudely breaks into conversation* You’re still reading David Copperfield? I’d forgotten about that. Is it any good? It looks so long!

I hope you had a good time in Vegas. 🙂

      • Yup, still reading David Copperfield! It’s an entertaining but not particularly exciting read. The writing is good though and I can now see why wannabe authors are advised to read the classics… but I can also see why people are reluctant to read them.

I keep taking breaks from it to read other things, most of them about WWII ‘cos I’m weird. Mind you, it’s the first book that I’ve read like this – usually I read something all in one go.

And I didn’t go to Vegas you silly moo.

Break into the convo any time! 🙂
Vegas was fun but I am so glad to be home!

I know YOU didn’t go to Vegas Michael. :L

Yeah while I loved Great Expectations I’m not sure how I would feel about an even longer Dickens book! I’m not surprised that you had to take breaks, it’s pretty heavy going.

I’ve never been to Vegas and never wanted to, which means if I ever go I might love it. That has been known to happen.

You are always reading the best-sounding books!

ha! go with friends and just do things, don’t think about them. I got there, room wasn’t ready so I walked down the strip, went into NY NY and rode the rollercoaster cause I was there and there wasn’t a line. Turns out I never had time to go do anything like that again. Glad I just did it. Last night we decided to go for a drink, walked by a band and crazies dancign and just walked in. Was so much fun! Especially the people watching. I felt like I was in a movie! 🙂
