About Me

My name is Elisa, though I go by OCDReader and Leesie, I live in Southern California and I love to read, hike and talk to others about both.  These days I seem to read a lot of books about fantastical creatures, werewolves, vampires and faeries thick among them.  I have zipped through Patricia Briggs, Kelley Armstrong and Ilona Andrews and am now on the hunt for more.  That leads me to my not so secret obsession, finding books, both new and old.  While I do buy new, I haunt the local used bookstores to find new-to-me books and authors and because of that, have a TBR list in the hundreds.  I am also a fan of paperbackswap.com.  You never know what dusty gem I have waiting to be read and reviewed.

I am also part of a relatively new bookclub, Reading Between the Wines, where they make me read stuff once a month that I might not otherwise pick up.  Challenging reading?!  Oh no!  These books take away from my escapist fantsy focus but they are generally enjoyable and actually make me think.  Scary I know.

My husband and I volunteer for the local land conservancy and run their nursery.  I am kept hiking by my dog Luke, laughing by african gray parrot Mikey and my mangy cat Felix keeps me in line.  Life is good!!

Reviews – I have accepted reviews from authors here and there.  If I do, I will get to your book, but I have a large TBR pile and it may take me some time to get to it.  If you need something done right away, you can ask, but I simply cannot promise I will get to it in your time frame.   I am a weird reader, I read quickly if I am in the mood and if I have the time, otherwise I sometimes set books down for weeks/months at a time before I return to them.  I can’t fight it or I get “reader’s block” and won’t be able to pick up any book and stick with it.  I end up watching crap tv instead.  I dread reader’s block!

I do post to goodreads.com and may cross post my review on Amazon, especially if you remind me!

I just saw your group, Reading Between the Wines, and HAD to recommend this trilogy (if you haven’t already found it). Fantasy AND wine!

That trilogy looks like so much fun with magical grapes! It would be perfect and I am going to see if I can’t get them to try it. As a group they are not much into fantasy – but I am so I will make sure to check it regardless 🙂 Thanks for the awesome rec!

  14. Reader’s block! That is a fantastic phrase. I’m going to remember that. I’ve had it far too often lately, but I combat it by stopping the book that’s causing it and giving it away to a friend or donating it to the library.
